- Navigation keys and buttons
- Browsing Kiwix content is similar to web browsers, so you can easily navigate from a page (which could be a document or an article) to another page. Click on the Home icon
will take you to your current ZIM file's homepage. For instance, if you run the English Wikipedia ZIM file, you will see the Wikipedia entry as its homepage. If you haven't installed any ZIM file yet, you will see the Help page as the homepage and it means there is no content to display. - Create Bookmarks and use them
- You can use Kiwix bookmarks to easily save the pages you would like to revisit. Bookmarks are organized in sets which is a list (or group) of bookmarks that has been put together. - کیویکس شامل یک موتور جستجوی قدرتمند است که به شما کمک کند به راحتی دسترسی به صفحات داشته باشید یا یک عبارت خاص را در صفحات جستجو نمایید. موتور جستجوی تمام متن فقط برای فایل‌های ZIM ایندکس‌شده موجود است، به این معنی که اگر شما فایل ZIM از قبل ایندکس‌شده را دانلود کرده باشید قادر خواهید بود از این قابلیت استفاده نمایید، اما برای فایل های ZIM ایندکس‌نشده باید ابتدا فرایند ایندکس را انجام دهید. البته این کار الزامی نیست و فقط در صورتی که نیاز داشته باشید جستجوی تمام متن انجام دهید آن را انجام دهید، چرا که فرایندی زمان‌بر می‌باشد.
- در صورتی که فایل شما ایندکس نشده باشد، کیویکس برای اولین باری که وارد برنامه می‌شوید از شما خواهد پرسید که آیا مایل به ایندکس کردن فایل زیم هستید یا خیر، که شما می‌توانید این کار را انجام دهید و یا اینکه برای همیشه کاری کنید که دیگر این پیغام ظاهر نشود. این کار پروسه زمان‌بری است و بسته به فایل زیمی که در اختیار دارید ممکن است چند دقیقه، چند ساعت و یا حتی چند روز به طول بیانجامد. در حین انجام شدن این پروسه، در نوار پایین برنامه می‌توانید درصد پیشرفت ایندکس شدن (مانند
) را ببینید. برای این کار باید نوار وضعیت خود را فعال کرده باشید، اگر هم‌اکنون آن را نمی‌بینید از منوی نمایش گزینه نوار وضعیت را انتخاب نمایید. - توجه داشته باشید که اگر نسخه از قبل ایندکس شده را دانلود کرده باشید نیاز به انجام هیچ یک از مراحل فوق نخواهد بود. همچنین اگر نیازی با استفاده از جستجوی تمام متن ندارید، می‌توانید هیچ یک از این مراحل را انجام ندهید.
