Problem with wikipedia_en_all_novid.zim from May 2018

The file wikipedia_en_all_novid.zim from May 2018 is not recognized as a zim file by either my Windows version of Kiwix or my Android version. I did a checksum for md5 and they match. I downloaded via the direct link as well as bitorrent. On my phone I also tried downloading it in the app where it broke it down into 2 GB files and that wasn't recognized either. I even tried uninstalling Kiwix on the phone and re-installing. Brted (talk) 02:11, 22 July 2018 (CEST)

Hi, We will release in the next days a Windows version of Kiwix able to deal with that new files. For Android, we recommend to just do not cut/split the file (so download separatly) and use last version 2.4 of Kiwix for Android. Kelson (talk) 07:42, 22 July 2018 (CEST)

I've just had the same problem... I was suspicious of the size of the file and the Kiwix program's capability of opening it... maybe you should for now permit the download of the latest 2017 .zim and give a warning for the 2018 one... JanPiteJanseke (talk) 14:05, 30 August 2018 (CEST)

I'm experiencing enormous problems with the Android version 2.4 of Kiwix ... yep it's opens the latest English Wikipedia .zim but it doesn't open my French Wikipédia .zim declaring it's not a good .zim file ... same for other French .zims Could I please get the older version back ? Like I'm having some 10 .zims just listing them all keeps this 2.4 version busy for about a minute on my Samsung J1 Prime JanPiteJanseke (talk) 13:22, 4 September 2018 (CEST)

Problem with wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2019-09.zim

The file wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2019-09.zim seems to be corrupted/only partially complete. It claims to include "only" about 2.4 Mio articles, while there are 5+ Mio in the English wikipedia. Also, I couldn't access its content under iOS 13.1 Wikifan (talk) 16:23, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

Yes, the file is bad, I'll remove it. We are making a new one an investigating why it went wrong in a first place Kelson (talk) 17:42, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

Tables are in need of help

Users shouldn't have to open a notes file in a separate tab to understand the jargon being used in a table on a separate page. The table itself should be sortable at the very least by size and source.

User should use Kiwix to download, they should not rely on filename and this page will disappear. I don't want to maintain anything additional here. Kelson (talk) 17:25, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
"We can't make this page useful because we want people not to use the Content page to find content in Kiwix" Ok, why even have this page? Also, when I set up my Kiwix server on Linux, every tutorial I found in fact had people going to this page to pick out downloads. I'm trying to make this page better and more useful so more people can use Kiwix. If there's some Kiwix server Linux setup wizard that'll give a snazzy index of all zims to pick and choose from, that I missed, great. But if every person setting up a Kiwix server is going to need to come here, let's not deliberately cripple the page. Chungles (talk)
I agree, we should probably delete that page. This will happen, hopefully soon. Kelson (talk) 12:58, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
